A derrick is a lifting device composed of one tower, or guyed mast such as a pole which is hinged freely at the bottom. It is controlled by lines (usually four of them) powered by some means such as man-hauling or motors, so that the pole can move in all four directions. A line runs up it and over its top with a hook on the end, like with a crane. It is commonly used in docks and onboard ships. Some large derricks are mounted on dedicated vessels, and are often known as "floating derricks".
The device was named for its resemblance to a type of gallows from which a hangman's noose hangs. The derrick type of gallows in turn got its name from Thomas Derrick, an English executioner from the Elizabethan era.
Another kind of derrick is used over oil wells and other drilled holes. This is generally called an oil derrick and is a complex set of machines specifically designed for optimum efficiency, safety and low cost. This is used on some offshore oil and gas rigs.
The centerpiece is the archetypical derrick tower, used for lifting and positioning the drilling string and piping above the well bore, and containing the machinery for turning the drilling bit around in the hole. As the drill string goes deeper into the underlying soil or rock, new piping has to be added to the top of the drill to keep the connection between drill bit and turning machinery intact, to create a filler to keep the hole from caving in, and to create a conduit for the drilling mud. The drilling mud is used to cool the drilling bit and to blow rock debris clear from the drill bit and the bottom of the well. The piping joints sections—usually each about 10 meters (30 ft) long—have threaded ends, so they can be screwed together. The piping is hollow to allow for the mud to be pumped down into the drilling hole, where it flushes out at the drilling bit. The mud then proceeds upwards towards the surface on the outside of the piping, carrying the debris with it.

John Schultz (born 28 September 1938) is a former Australian rules football player, who played for the Footscray Football Club in the (then) Victorian Football League (VFL) and is one of the club's greatest players.
He had been a champion high-jumper at Caulfield Grammar School, winning the senior high jump at the 1955 Associated Grammar Schools Combined Athletics Meeting (as had South Melbourne's Jim Taylor in 1948). He also played for the school's First XVIII, a team which also contained other future VFL players, Ron Evans of Essendon, and Ron Cabble of Hawthorn.
John Schulz was considered a "gentle giant", known as much for his fairness as for his brilliance. An effective knock ruckman, he was acclaimed for good tackling, elegant marking and hard, fair bumping. Compared with others of his day, Schultz had exceptional stamina and he seemed to be able to run just as quickly at the end of a match as he had at its beginning.
Schultz was recruited by Footscray from country side Boort, having previously played briefly with Caulfield Grammarians Football Club in the Victorian Amateur Football Association (he broke his arm at the opening bounce of the first Caulfield Grammarians' practice match of the 1956 season).
Edward "Eddie" Chambers (born March 29, 1982 in Pittsburgh) is an American heavyweight boxer fighting out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Eddie started boxing professionally in 2000 at the age of 18. For the first five years, he fought unknown opponents before raising his level of competition significantly in 2005 against clubfighters Ross Puritty and Robert Hawkins.
In 2006 he took a further step upward by defeating former title challenger Ed Mahone and renowned clubfighter Domonic Jenkins (in spite of his record of only 9-5 Jenkins had beaten several prospects).
In May 2007, Chambers stopped 15–0 Derric Rossy and defeated Dominic Guinn on Shobox. Later in 2007 he took part in IBF's 4-man elimination tournament to face the current champion Wladimir Klitschko. Chambers beat Calvin Brock via split decision in semifinals, but lost unanimously to Alexander Povetkin in the final bout.
After his fight with Povetkin he won three more bouts against opponents like Raphael Butler before facing Samuel Peter on March 27, 2009 and defeated him by majority decision. He scored another decision win afterwards against Alexander Dimitrenko on July 4, 2009 in a WBO title eliminator bout, which made him the mandatory challenger for the WBO heavyweight title held by Wladimir Klitschko.

Scourges through the endless pain is what thy mind preached for years.
A gift of torture from a labour of love. Loather in your black eyes full of blood.
Your love in vain had been sodomized for years in a constant decay of our libertine race.
In the shadows of our lives. A sigh despites the Christian lies.
Unholy rites of darkness is our way of life. Storms of pleasure every night.
We are making war against Christendom. We are the threat of flesh in the altar.
Church are violated by our libidinous thoughts and deeds.
The tongue of darkness penetrated you and then you whimpered and cried forever in our bloody lives.
A dead poem is what I see when I look at your carnal pleasures.
Poetry from the past is the meaning of your present life full of lust.
In the shadows of our lives. A sigh despites the Christian lies.
Unholy rites of darkness is our way of life. Storms of pleasure every night.
We are making war against Christendom. We are the threat of flesh in the altar.
Church are violated by our libidinous thoughts and deeds.
We have been sinning against god and his stupid lambs.
A crescendo of sins and pleasure is what we became and what you had wished.

Tears are drowning me
I can't live with this sorrow
I want to escape from this dream
I dream about a thousand people dying
The end of summer... the beginning of the death
Two candles burning... this is the end
The end of feelings
The end of hope
The end of dreams
The end of all
Revenge is what I scream
Everybody has the right to live
Nobody wants his own death but
Religions kill
The end of summer... the beginning of the death
Two candles burning... this is the end
The end of feelings
The end of hope
The end of dreams
The end of all
(music: Dark Embrace, lyrics: Oscar Asunder)
Dying in a world without sky
I'd give my life to see the light
But all I can see is pain and suffering
Crying in a dream without hope
I know this is my bitter home
I'm waiting for the end
Dying in a world without sky
Crying in a world without hope
Spring, it's when we begin to live
Summer, it's when we learn to fly
Autumn, it's when we begin to fall
Winter, this is our bitter end
It's when we're born, the beginning of our life
It's when we're born, the beginning of our death
Breathing in a world without air
I can't find the meaning of life
But all I can feel is sorrow and death
Sleeping while I cry for the end
I don't want more pain
I'm waiting for the truth
Breathing in a world without air
Sleeping while I cry for the end
Spring, it's when we begin to live
Summer, it's when we learn to fly
Autumn, it's when we begin to fall
Winter, this is our bitter end
Bitter End ! ! !
Dark light is on my side... it's my shadow
Everyone has the same destiny... and I'm afraid
Weeping inside my mind I feel so alone
Awaiting for my bitter end
Dying in a world without sky
I'd give my life to see the light
But all I can see is pain and suffering
Crying in a dream without hope
I know this is my bitter home
I'm waiting for the end
Dying in a world without sky
